Following the overwhelming success of our 2024 trial camp, we are thrilled to announce that Spring Camp at Brumby Equine-Assisted Therapy is now an annual event! Designed specifically for teens aged 13–17, this unique three-day, two-night experience offers an immersive opportunity for personal growth, social connection, confidence building, teamwork, and self-discovery—all within the healing presence of nature and horses.

Unlike traditional camps, Spring Camp focuses on emotional well-being, resilience, and self-awareness. Through carefully designed activities, campers develop life skills in a fun, supportive, and non-judgmental environment, guided by experienced mental health professionals and equine-assisted therapy facilitators.

Camp Dates:

We are hosting two Spring Camps during the NSW government school spring break:

    •    First Week: Monday, September 29 – Wednesday, October 01, 2025

    •    Second Week: Monday, October 06 – Wednesday, October 8, 2025

Each camp is limited to just six campers, ensuring a personalised and enriching experience.

Investment:

The total cost of the camp is $500 per camper, which includes:

    •    Two full days of workshops and activities.

    •    All meals and snacks during the camp.

Supporting The Kind Farm Inc:

We’re proud to donate a portion of the camp fees to The Kind Farm Inc, a horse rescue organisation based in Mullumbimby, NSW. By joining our Spring Camp, you’re not only investing in an enriching experience but also contributing to the care and rehabilitation of rescued horses.

What to Expect:

Overnight Camping Under the Stars

Campers will experience two nights of camping in a safe, fully supported environment. Whether they are experienced campers or new to the outdoors, our team provides full supervision, assistance with setting up tents, and a welcoming space where each camper can feel at home.

Creative Expression

Spring Camp is a no-reading, no-writing zone! Instead, we offer journaling, painting, drawing, and other artistic outlets to encourage self-reflection and personal expression in ways that feel natural and enjoyable.

Professional Facilitation & Mental Health Support

The camp is facilitated by qualified counsellors and equine-assisted mental health therapists with experience supporting teens with diverse needs, including anxiety, neurodivergence, and trauma recovery. Our facilitators create a nurturing and inclusive space where each camper is encouraged to be themselves.

Workshop Highlights

Self-Awareness & Emotional Regulation

Campers will explore the nervous system and emotional regulation techniques, helping them understand their reactions to stress and develop healthy coping strategies.

Confidence & Social Skills Development

Through structured activities and teamwork challenges, campers will practice communication, boundary-setting, and self-advocacy, helping them navigate friendships and social interactions with greater ease.

Equine-Assisted Activities

Horses are deeply intuitive animals that provide a calming and grounding presence. Campers will engage in hands-on activities with horses, helping them build trust, self-confidence, and a deeper connection with their emotions.

Nature-Based Therapy & Relaxation

Immersing in nature has proven benefits for reducing stress, improving mood, and enhancing overall well-being. Our campers will experience mindfulness, grounding exercises, and sensory-based activities, all designed to foster a sense of inner peace.
